Ibn al-Qayyim, may God have mercy on him, said: The understandings of the Companions, may God be pleased with them, are superior to the understandings of the entire nation, and their knowledge of the purposes of their Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the rules of his religion and law, is more complete than the knowledge of everyone who came after them.
