🚓 Federal Bureau of Investigation Seizes Over $8B in Crypto

The FBI has confiscated more than $8 billion in cryptocurrency, marking the largest crypto asset seizure in U.S. history.

The operation targeted international scam compounds across **Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates.

Nearly 300 suspects were arrested, while around 2,000 people were freed from forced labor conditions during the crackdown.

🚫 Worldcoin price jumps 8% as human-only tickets spark WLD rally

👀 Worldcoin moved higher after the Sam Altman-linked identity project gained attention for a new ticketing use case. The partnership allows verified World ID users to access special Thirty Seconds to Mars tickets. The offer gives verified fans 2-for-1 ticket access, with one free extra ticket excluding VIP packages. It also gives users limited-edition merchandise vouchers for selected shows.

📌 The campaign targets a common live-event problem: bots buying tickets before real fans can access them. World Network says World ID can prove that a user is human without giving ticket sellers a normal account-based identity check. That real-world use case helped WLD stand out in a mixed altcoin market. The token rose strongly earlier in the session before cooling from its intraday high.

⚡️ Worldcoin traded near $0.33 after earlier climbing as high as $0.38. The move followed a sharp daily rally, although the latest update showed the token had eased from its strongest level. WLD’s 24-hour trading volume stood above $328 million, showing active market participation during the move. The token held a market cap of about $1.09 billion and ranked near the top 70 crypto assets by market value.

📊 Bitcoin liquidations hit $320M after SEC stock plan delay

⚠️ The SEC delayed a plan on May 22 to provide broad exemptions for US crypto firms to trade tokenized assets linked to US stocks. The agency’s staff had been preparing to release an innovation exemption for tokenized stocks as soon as this week, according to people familiar with the matter. The delay triggered a sharp move in derivatives markets. Crypto long positions worth approximately $320 million were liquidated in the hours following the announcement, with longs accounting for roughly $296 million of the total.

🔖 Leveraged long positioning had been building in anticipation of a regulatory green light for tokenized equities. When the exemption was pulled back, traders positioned for a near-term catalyst were forced to exit. Bitcoin fell toward $76,000 during the session, its lowest print in approximately a week.

📣 The tokenized stock market is already active internationally. Exchanges outside the US offer US stock tokens to non-residents, giving offshore users exposure to Apple, Tesla, and other US equities via blockchain. An SEC exemption would have opened US-registered platforms to the same product, unlocking a market analysts have estimated at multiple billions of dollars. Cryptonews has tracked the broader regulatory calendar pressure in 2026, with the Clarity Act, tokenized equity rules, and stablecoin legislation all competing for bandwidth simultaneously.

📌 Michael Saylor says Strategy Bitcoin sale ‘not unlikely’

🚫 Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor told the Coin Stories podcast it was “not unlikely” the company would sell some Bitcoin before year-end. The comment softens his long-standing public position that Strategy would never sell.

⚠️ Saylor described Strategy’s capital management as programmatic and data-driven, with liabilities evaluated against a mix of cash, equity, credit and Bitcoin. Strategy holds 818,334 BTC acquired for approximately $61.6 billion at an average price of $75,527.

➡️ Saylor also confirmed Strategy does not plan to retire its STRF, STRD, and STRK preferred products, calling them useful parts of the capital structure while convertible bonds remain senior liabilities to be retired over time.“I think it’s not unlikely that we’ll sell some Bitcoin between now and the end of the year,” Saylor said. “Any model that we put together that’s limited only to equity or only to credit or only to Bitcoin always underperforms.”

🔔 Bitcoin ETF outflows hit $1.26B as Santiment sees buy signal

📌 The 11 US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs have recorded net outflows in each of six sessions from May 15 through May 22, totalling $1.26 billion according to Farside data. “Sustained ETF outflows have historically correlated with conditions favorable for patient accumulation rather than panic,” Santiment said in a published report. The analytics firm argued that ETFs disproportionately reflect retail conviction rather than smart money positioning, making large outflows a counter-signal.

⚠️ Santiment’s analysis rests on a historical pattern: Bitcoin’s strongest rallies have followed periods of heavy ETF withdrawals. The firm said retail investors grew less patient after Bitcoin failed to hold $80,000, with the current streak resembling a healthy market reset. ETF analyst James Seyffart noted that Bitcoin ETFs have clawed back most of the $9 billion in outflows seen between October 2025 and February 2026. Crypto news has reported on the first May outflow event, which reversed the early-month inflow trend.

🚀 IG Expands Cryptocurrency Offerings in the UK

🌟 Financial giant IG has significantly expanded its cryptocurrency platform in the UK, adding over 50 new digital assets to bring its total offerings to more than 100. This expansion follows the company's approval from regulatory authorities to operate in the cryptocurrency space and includes the launch of swaps, enhanced charting features, and upcoming support for wallet transfers.
