🚀 IG Expands Cryptocurrency Offerings in the UK

🌟 Financial giant IG has significantly expanded its cryptocurrency platform in the UK, adding over 50 new digital assets to bring its total offerings to more than 100. This expansion follows the company's approval from regulatory authorities to operate in the cryptocurrency space and includes the launch of swaps, enhanced charting features, and upcoming support for wallet transfers.

📈 The addition of these new cryptocurrencies strengthens IG's trading capabilities amidst increasing competition in the regulated UK cryptocurrency market. The planned wallet transfers will allow clients to manage external assets through their IG accounts.

🗓 On May 13, IG announced the expansion of its cryptocurrency offerings in the UK by adding over 50 additional digital assets. This update increases the available range of cryptocurrencies to more than 100 and introduces the swap feature, updated charting tools, and planned support for wallet transfers for clients.

🔔 This expansion follows the company's registration of crypto assets with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in October 2025. UK clients can now access a wider selection of cryptocurrencies through the company's licensed crypto product. The launch also introduced the swap feature, allowing clients to exchange one cryptocurrency directly for another.

🚀 Firedancer Client Launches on Solana Network

🌐 The Firedancer client from Jump Crypto has begun producing blocks on the Solana (SOL) mainnet. The launch was conducted without a public announcement, as the team opted for a gradual deployment approach. Firedancer is operational in production, said co-founder and lead engineer Richie Patel in an interview with CoinDesk. We have processed tens of millions of transactions over the past few months.

🔒 The team is not rushing for widespread adoption. Patel explained that increasing the number of nodes before completing full audits poses unnecessary risks. We don't want everyone to switch to it yet. If half the network upgrades before the security audit is complete, it would be reckless.

🔔 Firedancer is an alternative client for the Solana network, developed in response to a series of blockchain outages and reliance on a single dominant client supported by infrastructure company Anza. However, Patel does not view Firedancer as a competitor: It's more of a collaborative effort than competition.

📊 According to data from the cryptocurrency forecasting platform Polymarket, the market overwhelmingly anticipates that the Federal Reserve (Fed) will keep interest rates unchanged at its June meeting. This meeting is critically important as it will be the first one after Jerome Powell's term as Fed Chair has ended. Investors are closely watching how policy will be shaped under the new Fed Chair, Kevin Warsh.

According to Polymarket data, the probability of no change in interest rates at the June 17 meeting is 98 percent. Meanwhile, the likelihood of a rate cut by 25 basis points is estimated at 1 percent, and the probability of a cut by 50 basis points or more is below 1 percent. The markets also consider scenarios for rate hikes to be extremely unlikely. The probability of a 25 basis points increase remains below 1 percent, and the probability of an increase of 50 basis points or more is also below 1 percent.

🔔 Jerome Powell, who successfully navigated many critical periods during his tenure, including the pandemic, high inflation, and banking crises, completed his eight-year term as Fed Chair on Friday. Почему TON ускорился только сейчас и кто был стоп краном?

Блокчейн TON как будто начинает оживать после ускорения, но что мешало сделать это раньше? Ответ на этот вопрос есть, и это не что, а кто.

В TON Core есть небезызвестный Анатолий Макосов, который принимал ton.org после суда над Telegram и, собственно, занимался дальнейшей разработкой блокчейна, вместе с Кириллом Емельяненко. Ценный человек, спору нет, однако именно он является одним из главных блокеров развития экосистемы.

Анатолий так вжился в роль главного, что никого не подпускал к коду и практически на все новые идеи говорил «нет».

Сотрудникам TON Core он запрещал общаться с другими без его ведома, а всё взаимодействие рубил на корню. Скандал с RSQuad также стал публичным из-за него. Ребята придумали, как ускорить блокчейн, как поменять код ноды и внедрить прочие оптимизации, а он публично их уничтожал, говоря, что код в режиме бета, и вообще за использование их кода будут штрафы.

В начале года Павел Дуров все-таки понял, что Толя что-то темнит, и состоялась встреча разработчиков, чтобы разобраться, что вообще происходит. В итоге, когда Павел увидел решения и предложения от других команд, которые реально могли ускорить блокчейн, он дал Анатолию время сделать это самому. Иначе решение проблемы передали бы в другие руки.

Поэтому Анатолий и активизировался. Терять место он не хотел, как и свою значимость. В кратчайшие сроки был реализован апдейт с ускорением блокчейна, который мы сейчас и наблюдаем.

То есть Анатолий должен развивать блокчейн, а по факту он дико тормозит развитие, из-за чего страдаем все мы. Таких людей, по идее, надо гнать ссаной тряпкой. Да и по слухам Толя давно сам хочет уйти, однако он все еще остается ключевым разработчиком TON.

Думаю, та встреча также повлияла на то, что Паша решил взять все в свои руки. Впервые он реально включился в процесс того, что происходит в его хваленом блокчейне, и понял, что многие просто протирают штаны и получают за это огромные деньги.

То есть основная причина падения цены TON - простое бездействие как со стороны лидера, так и со стороны разработчиков. Начали что-то делать - результат налицо, и объемы появились и люди зашевелились. Продолжат, TON и правда снова может стать великим.
