Hey, it's us again. The bot might be a bit shaky these past few days since we're very actively working on optimization, improvements and just polishing the little things. Plus the more we work on speed, the more links you throw at it for processing and everything starts lagging again. That's life. Now, what's new and not so new:
— Files with non-Latin names now get a proper name. We also slightly raised the filename limit to 65 bytes, sadly no more, it's a Telegram technical limit. — Fixed format priorities, figured out why some were getting lost, and tweaked correct codecs. — On some services the bot got confused about the selected format and could send you a 4K video instead of what you requested, eating your traffic instantly. Fixed. — Moved the ability to disable captions, meta info and media descriptions into settings. It's a global setting, so fewer buttons during format selection. — Fixed a menu bug where the system complained about someone else's click. The URL-owner check logic in groups was broken. — Fixed that already-downloaded files are available for priority services without a size check. Previously plan limits kicked in, which is incorrect. — Preview images were sometimes sent incorrectly. Fixed. — Turned out TikTok uses some odd audio codec in its videos, and on audio export it didn't play for everyone. Now it's fine, downside being the file grew a bit in size. — Built a clever geo-block bypass for YouTube, plus made a million optimizations for it (token caching, handler warmup and other technical stuff). — Improved Spotify links. We can't download directly from it, but the system automatically finds an alternative on YouTube. — Downloading generated subtitles sometimes worked incorrectly. Fixed. — Auto-download without format selection is now in settings. If you want to save traffic or download audio right away, you now can. — Turned out due to tricky copyright laws YouTube and Instagram don't always serve audio tracks. Added logic to cycle through different proxies for better reliability.

Плюс чем больше мы работаем над скоростью, тем больше вы начинаете накидывать ссылок для обработки и всё снова начинает тормозить. Так и живём. Ну а теперь собственно что нового и не очень:
— Теперь у файлов не на латинице будет нормальное имя. Плюс слегка увеличили лимит на имена файлов, 65 байтов, к сожалению больше нельзя, технический лимит Телеграм. — Поправили приоритеты для форматов, разобрались почему часть теряется, плюс пошаманили с корректными кодеками. — На некоторых сервисах бот немного путался в выбранном формате и мог вам отправить 4K видео вместо запрошенного, сжирая вам сразу же трафик. Пофиксили. — Вынесли в настройки возможность отключать заголовки, мета-инфу и описание к медиа. Настройка глобальная, так меньше кнопок при выборе формата. — Поправили косяк с меню, когда система ругалась на чужой клик. Криво работала логика проверки на владельца URL в группах. — Исправили что уже скачанные файлы доступны для приоритетных сервисов без проверки на размер. А то раньше срабатывали лимиты плана, что некорректно. — Иногда криво присылались картинки превью, поправили. — Оказалось, что ТикТок использует какой-то странный аудиокодек в своих видео и при экспорте аудио оно не у всех проигрывалось. Теперь всё будет ок, из минусов файл чуть вырос в размерах. — Запилили хитрый обход гео-блоков для YouTube, плюс сделали для него миллион оптимизаций (кэширование токенов, разогрев обработчиков и прочую техническую штуку). — Улучшили работу ссылок со Spotify. Напрямую с него качать не можем, но система автоматически ищет альтернативу на YouTube. — Иногда криво работало скачивание сгенерированных субтитров. Поправили. — Автоскачивание без выбора формата теперь в настройках. Если вдруг вы хотите экономить трафик или сразу качать аудио, то теперь вы можете это сделать. — Как оказалось, из-за хитрых законов по копирайту YouTube и Instagram не всегда отдают аудиодорожки. Добавили логику перебора разных проксей для большей надёжности.

Hey, we keep polishing the bot, so here's a fresh batch of fixes and improvements:
— Fixed the biggest pain point: uploading heavy files to Telegram. It took some effort, but now even a couple-gig file is no problem for us. — Added smart control of link lifetime and requesting fresh formats. Otherwise you'd sometimes hit an error when trying to download something. — Fixed download freezing, an issue where requesting the same URL gave you nothing for 5 minutes. — Reworked file splitting into multiple files for Ultra plans. Now it's sent as separate files and each is stored separately in history. — Added a legend explaining that some formats may be unavailable due to plan limits, since not everyone understood what was going on. — Added an option to not send the caption. Turns out some people find it more convenient. — Figured out how pin.it handles redirects for short links, so it'll work much more reliably. Also greatly sped up processing of YouTube and FB short links. — Some services used odd formats for previews, so the image wasn't visible during format selection. Fixed it and added automatic conversion to formats Telegram understands. We also cache them, so the response is instant for cached data. — The audio export logic was a bit slow and miscounted traffic. Fixed. — Audio export is now also written to cache, it used to get lost. Not good. — If a file is already in cache, the format will show the size of the cached file. Just a reminder: we show approximate sizes, the exact size is only clear after downloading. — Built a smart size calculation for services where audio and video are separate tracks. We used to take the best audio quality, and on big videos the audio could end up larger than the video. Fixed: if you're downloading a low resolution, there's no point dragging heavy audio along.

— Исправили самую большую боль, что была, а именно загрузку тяжёлых файлов в Телеграм. Пришлось немного заморочиться, но теперь для нас и файлы в пару гигов не проблема. — Сделали умный контроль времени жизни ссылок и запрос свежих форматов. Иначе иногда при попытке что-то скачать вы получали ошибку. — Починили залипание скачивания, исправили проблему, когда при попытке запросить такой же самый URL 5 минут ничего не приходило из-за кривой логики кэша. — Переделали логику разбивки файлов на несколько для ультра-планов. Теперь присылается разными файлами и каждый файл отдельно хранится в истории. — Добавили легенду, что некоторые форматы могут быть недоступны из-за лимитов плана, а то не все понимали в чём дело. — Добавили опцию не присылать заголовок. Как оказалось, некоторым так удобнее. — Разобрались как pin.it делает редирект для коротких ссылок, и он будет работать в разы надёжнее. Также сильно ускорили обработку коротких ссылок YouTube и FB. — Некоторые сервисы для превью использовали странные форматы, потому при выборе формата не было видно картинки. Поправили и добавили автоматическую конвертацию в форматы, что понимает Телеграм. Ну и также их кэшируем, так что ответ прилетает мгновенно для данных, что есть в кэше. — Слегка тупила логика экспорта из аудио и неверно считала трафик, поправили. — Экспорт аудио теперь тоже пишется в кэш, а то терялось. Непорядок. — Если файл есть уже в кэше, то формат будет показывать размер уже файла в кэше. На всякий случай напоминаем, что мы размер показываем примерный, точный размер понятен только после скачивания. — Сделали умный алгоритм расчёта размера для сервисов, когда аудио и видео отдельными дорожками. Раньше мы брали лучшее качество аудио, и на больших роликах могло быть, что размер аудио больше видео. Теперь поправили: если уж качаете небольшие разрешения, нет смысла вам тащить и тяжёлое аудио.

В первую очередь появились полноценные версии приложений для Apple Watch и смарт-часов на Android Wear OS.

Расширенное форматирование текста
Второе нововведение принесло расширенное форматирование текста для ответов ботов. В первую очередь это касается ИИ-ботов, которые теперь могут отвечать, используя богатый набор стилей.
Теперь боты могут отправлять пользователям сообщения, которые включают:

Когда пользователь отправляет запрос на вступление, бот может открыть веб-приложение, в котором пользователю необходимо пройти проверку с помощью капчи или выполнить другие проверки, настроенные владельцем бота, прежде чем ему будет разрешён вход.
Новый вариант ответов в опросах

It wasn't easy, but we did it. We've fully migrated @download_it_bot to the new system. This was long overdue since we'd hit the limits of the old architecture. There are a ton of changes, too many for one post. Let's start with plans:
— Important: the migration is still ongoing, so issues are possible. To be fair, we've added a free week of premium for paid users. — As warned, we've updated the pricing tiers. We hadn't changed prices in over five years, and the cost of proxies, hardware and everything else has grown 2-3x in that time, so we had to adjust. We dropped the 6-month plan and replaced it with an annual one (with a 30% discount). — Brought back the free trial and extended it from 2 hours to a full day. Same scheme as our other bots: you link a card, NOTHING is charged, then the usual auto-renewal at your chosen interval. Note: since Stars and crypto don't support auto-renewal, the trial is available only when paying by card. You can cancel anytime.
Now on to the features, and there are a lot:
— One of our goals was a unified cache for all bots, and we pulled it off. We audited the data, removed junk and clones, grouped everything, and the total now reaches 800 terabytes and around 30 million files. All our users have access to this data through our bots. — Fully reworked architecture and the benefits are already visible. Stats show the new system pushed through twice as much data in a day. Total traffic per day is 2 terabytes. — Removed format selection for small files or when there's only one format. The bot just sends the media in max available size if it fits within 20 MB. — Dropped specific format selection (too many buttons) and now simply show the file resolution. — Added support for downloading 2K and 4K video. Important: Telegram only handles 1080p, so the video will be sent as a file.

Это было непросто, но мы это сделали. Полностью мигрировали @download_it_bot на новую систему. Это давно нужно было сделать, потому как мы уперлись в лимиты архитектуры. Изменений очень много, в одну новость не влезем, так что погнали. Начнём с изменений по планам:
— Важный момент: миграция ещё идёт, возможны проблемы. Так что платным пользователям мы накинули неделю премиума, чтобы было честно. — Как и предупреждали, обновили тарифную сетку. Цены мы не меняли больше пяти лет, стоимостей проксей, железа и прочего за это время выросла в 2-3 раза, так что и нам пришлось делать коррекцию. Отказались от плана на 6 месяцев и заменили его годовым (с 30% скидкой). — Вернули бесплатный пробный период и расширили его длительность с 2 часов до суток. Схема как в остальных ботах: привязываете карту, с вас НИЧЕГО не списывается, потом обычное автосписание в выбранный вами период. Важный нюанс: так как оплата звёздами и криптой не поддерживает автосписание, пробный период доступен только при оплате картой. Отменить подписку можно в любуй момент.
Теперь по фичам, и их прям много:
— Одной из задач было сделать единый кэш для всех ботов, и нам это удалось. Провели аудит данных, удалили лишнее и клоны, всё сгруппировали и общий объём теперь достигает 800 терабайт и примерно 30 млн файлов. Все наши пользователи имеют доступ к этим данным через наших ботов. — Полностью переделали архитектуру и плюсы уже видно. Статистика показывает, что новая система смогла за сутки прогнать через себя в два раза больше данных. Общий трафик за сутки 2 терабайта. — Убрали выбор формата для файлов небольшого размера или если формат один. Бот просто отправит медиа в максимально доступном размере, если оно укладывается в 20 МБ. — Отказались от выбора конкретного формата (было очень много кнопок) и теперь просто показываем разрешение файла. — Добавили поддержку скачивания 2K и 4K видео. Важный момент: Телеграм умеет только 1080p, так что видео будет отправлено как файл.

Gram was the name the network's founders gave the token in the original TON White Paper, and it's never left the codebase.
That is why Telegram is proposing to rename the native token from Toncoin to Gram, a fitting moment to bring it forward.
