🎬 'Obsession' recauda 175 millones. Su directora de arte cobró 6.741 dólares.

La directora de arte Sally Choi reveló haber cobrado menos de 7.000 dólares después de impuestos por su trabajo en el film independiente, que se acerca a los 175 millones en todo el mundo. La película costó 750.000 dólares y se prevé que acabe rozando los 250 millones.

El contrato era el contrato, sí. Pero cuando una cinta indie de terror dirigida por Curry Barker multiplica su presupuesto por 200, algo chirría en ese modelo. Choi lo resume con brutal precisión: "nos convierten en una línea del presupuesto que hay que mantener lo más baja posible". Y señala que parte del equipo ni siquiera llegó a cobrar.

Me parece razonable pedir cláusulas de bonus automáticas cuando el retorno supera un umbral absurdo.

🎬 Apple TV+ supera a Netflix en calidad. Y tiene sentido.

La firma MoffettNathanson ha publicado un índice de calidad para plataformas de streaming y Apple TV+ queda por encima de Netflix. El ranking lo lidera Disney, seguido de HBO Max, pero Apple adelanta a Netflix en un análisis que valora prestigio, demanda de contenido y profundidad de franquicia.

El dato me compra, y la explicación es sencilla: Apple siempre ha apostado por crear el mejor contenido, no el más abundante. El resultado son joyas como 'Slow Horses', con Gary Oldman en un estado de gracia interpretando a un espía zarrapastroso y genial que Netflix jamás habría renovado más allá de la segunda temporada. 🎭

Porque en los rankings habituales, que miden tiempo de visionado, Apple queda al fondo. Pero este nuevo índice demuestra que está ganando donde realmente importa al espectador. Cantidad sin criterio no es estrategia, es ruido.

Christopher Nolan shot this thing entirely on 70mm IMAX across Morocco, Greece, Iceland, and the open sea. With a $250 million budget, it's the most expensive film of his career and the first shot entirely on IMAX 70mm cameras. That ambition is real. But the IMAX logo on this poster is literally bigger than the title, and those medieval-looking warriors could be from any generic fantasy game cover. 🤨

Matt Damon as Odysseus, with Oppenheimer-level star power behind him. The faith is there. I just hope the film earns an identity as singular as its production. Turn up the subtitles either way.
