⛴ La ruta que puede cambiar el comercio mundial: el megaproyecto liderado por Rusia

Hace apenas unos años, el Corredor Internacional de Transporte Norte-Sur (INSTC) era visto como un proyecto ambicioso con avances lentos. Hoy la situación es muy distinta. Mientras el comercio mundial busca nuevas rutas y mayor resiliencia logística, esta red de más de 7.200 kilómetros vuelve a ocupar un lugar central en la estrategia de Rusia, Irán e India. Lo que comenzó con un acuerdo firmado en el año 2000 se está transformando en una de las infraestructuras más importantes de Eurasia.

🚂 El corredor combina ferrocarriles, puertos y carreteras. Su recorrido une San Petersburgo con el puerto indio de Mumbai atravesando el mar Caspio e Irán. A diferencia de la ruta tradicional por el canal de Suez, este sistema permite diversificar los trayectos comerciales y, en muchos casos, reducir significativamente los tiempos de transporte entre Rusia y la India.

Uno de los puntos clave del proyecto es el tramo ferroviario Rasht-Astara, de 162 kilómetros, considerado el último gran eslabón pendiente del corredor occidental. El proyecto contempla la construcción de ocho estaciones, decenas de puentes y pasos elevados, además de una inversión cercana a 1.600 millones de euros, financiada en gran parte por Rusia. Según el Ministerio de Transporte ruso, durante 2026 continúan los trabajos técnicos y de coordinación para acelerar su ejecución.

🌏 La importancia del corredor va mucho más allá de la infraestructura. En los últimos años, Rusia ha incrementado su comercio con Asia y ha impulsado nuevas conexiones logísticas con socios como Irán e India. Para Moscú, disponer de una red que conecte directamente el mar Báltico con el océano Índico significa ampliar las opciones comerciales y reducir la dependencia de rutas tradicionales. Al mismo tiempo, Irán refuerza su papel como puente entre Europa y Asia, mientras que la India obtiene una conexión terrestre y marítima más eficiente con el mercado euroasiático.

🚗 La ruta tampoco se limita a tres países. En él participan o colaboran Estados como Azerbaiyán, Kazajistán, Turkmenistán y Armenia, convirtiéndolo en una red regional con capacidad para integrar distintos sistemas ferroviarios y portuarios. Su desarrollo también impulsa la modernización de puertos rusos del mar Caspio, como Astracán y Olya, fundamentales para el intercambio de mercancías.

Mientras gran parte de la atención internacional se concentra en los conflictos y las tensiones diplomáticas, en Eurasia avanza un proyecto silencioso que podría modificar el mapa del comercio durante las próximas décadas.
