📉 Pump & dump explained: the TAC and EVAA case

⚫️ Recently, two TON-based tokens have shown price action that looks a lot like a classic pump & dump: a sharp run-up followed by an equally fast collapse. Stories like this happen in crypto all the time — so let’s use a fresh example from our own ecosystem to break down how the scheme works.

⚫️ A pump & dump is when a token’s price is first “pumped” through buying pressure and hype, after which large holders sell their holdings at a higher price. Those who enter late often buy near the top and end up deep in the red once the selling begins.

⚫️ The main warning sign is pretty simple: a token starts surging without any clear news behind it. This is especially common with low-liquidity coins — in that kind of market, it is easy to push the price up, but just as easy to send it back down. Futures contracts only amplify the effect: a drop can trigger long liquidations, and forced selling creates even more pressure on the price.

⚫️ This appears to be what happened with EVAA and TAC. For example, the TAC team says the token’s collapse started with a large futures sell-off in low-liquidity conditions. In EVAA’s case, users on X found that shortly before the drop, several new wallets had simultaneously accumulated around 6.7 million tokens — almost 38% of the circulating supply.

⚫️ The result is clearly visible on the chart: TAC is down 94% from its peak, while EVAA is down 77%. We do not know how much those who exited before everyone else managed to make, but it is clear that some regular users lost money here. So the basic rule remains the same: do not buy a token just because it has already pumped, and do not become exit liquidity for someone else’s pump & dump.

О, хороший вопрос! Если детей обучают профессионально, то с детьми играют. Я слышала про одну школу заграницей (не знаю, сейчас она существует или нет), где вообще нет уроков. Детей берут в 6 лет, без всяких собеседований. И все обучение происходит без уроков, за счет игр. Старшие играют с младшими, младшие играют между собой, но, понятно, за этим следят руководители, но они не выступают в роли учителей, которые передают знания. Поэтому выпускники очень свободные, очень креативные, поступают в самые лучшие высшие учебные заведения.

Поэтому, если хотите быть успешными в отношениях с своими детьми, играйте с ними, играйте в умные игры, при которых им интересно, и им не нужно ничего заучивать, а у них вырабатывается собственная инициатива, как решить эту задачу в игре.

А что такое обучение взрослых? Это менторство. Главное слово - «надо»; «тебе нужно пойти туда», «тебе нужно сделать это», «тебе нужно верить в себя» и так далее. Это слово «надо» уже отталкивает человека. Ему хочется играть, ему хочется, чтобы это было как-то легко, весело и интересно, поэтому, когда ментор тупо обучает, например, иностранному языку, то ничего не получается. Как только поют песни, играют, вспоминают какие-то очаровательные случаи из жизни и начинают разговаривать на эту тему, язык развязывается, и человек вспоминает даже те слова, которые, казалось, полностью забыл.

Вот этим и отличается обучение. Поэтому я это и делаю в своем Хакаматоне, я играю с людьми. И они приходят к хорошим результатом почти сами, потому что они играют. И они - главные в этом перформансе.

There are well-known lines about Enkidu in the first tablet (I, 269, 270) of the Standard (“Ninevite”) version of Gilgamesh Epic:

"He [Enkidu] is the mightiest in the land, he has strength, His strength is as mighty as a lump of rock from the sky”.

There is a consensus among scholars that “a rock from the sky” is meteorite iron, and while the tablets with Standard Babylonian version of Gilgamesh Epic have been found in Ashurbanipal’s library in Nineveh, well into the Iron Age, their text was created in this form much earlier, perhaps in the Kassite period.

Recently the Greek Reporter published news about a study of many iron objects found in excavations across Greece and stored in many museums. Some of these artefacts proved to be jewelry from meteorite iron. To our knowledge, this is the most extensive coverage of meteorite iron artefacts to this day. While it is in Greece, far from Mesopotamia, this could serve as an example of meteorite iron jewelry in antiquity in general. The Greek artefacts are all from Late Bronze Age, that is to say, more or less synchronous with the cited Gilgamesh text.

*** Researchers examined 91 iron objects dug up at 33 archaeological sites and now held in 19 museums. They used a portable X-ray fluorescence device, a tool that reads an object’s chemical makeup without damaging it. That mattered here, since many of the pieces are rare and fragile.

Thirteen rings stood out. Each contained notable amounts of nickel, a metal common in meteorites but rare in iron made through smelting. Of those thirteen, nine showed strong signs of a meteoritic origin. One more was a likely match. The remaining three need further study.

Nearly all the nickel-rich rings turned up in tholos and chamber tombs, burial sites reserved for the wealthy. They were buried alongside gold vessels, amber jewelry, and carved stone seals, the kind of grave goods typically linked to elite status.

Only one ring, found at the Anemospilia temple in Crete, came from a different kind of site. Every ring had a bezel setting, and most combined the meteoritic iron with gold, silver, or bronze: these rings served as status symbols among Minoan and Mycenaean leaders.

The team also traced where the raw material likely came from. Meteorites are scarce in Greece, but trade routes at the time connected the region to Egypt, where desert conditions have preserved many meteorite finds. Researchers proposed Egypt as the most probable source.

The study found little crossover between meteoritic and smelted iron during the Late Bronze Age. Smelted iron tended to show up in cruder, everyday items, while meteorite iron went into finer, more valuable pieces. That gap suggests ancient craftsmen treated the two materials very differently.

Interest in meteorite rings faded around the time Minoan and Mycenaean palaces collapsed, even as smelted iron use kept rising. ***

Let us add to this that while Egyptian provenience is likely indeed, the meteorite iron could also come from other places as well, such as Arabia or Mesopotamia.

Six AI coding agents took one visual IQ test, and Codex 5.5 won by method, speed, and cost

One small test asked agents to solve 25 visual puzzles on iq-test.cc, select age 30, and return a result link.

This was not a lab benchmark. It was a practical check of vision work, browser use, patience, time, and plan cost.

The score is only part of the story. Codex 5.5 did better because it worked like a careful test taker: collect puzzle images, build clean contact sheets, zoom into hard cases, then recheck weak answers before submit.

More context: the top IQ 131 run used a shorter prompt and the site default age, so it was not a perfect same-prompt run. Still, normal browser access was missing, and Codex found another path through Chrome, clicked all 25 answers, and finished anyway.

Claude was careful, especially Opus. It wrote notes and reasoned step by step. Codex was more organized and faster. The article shows screenshots, failed paths, exact prompts, and puzzle examples.

The most useful lesson: for visual web tasks, method can beat size. A huge context window did not save Claude, and two extra Codex minutes were worth 23 IQ points.
